Introducing our new head caretaker and more

Mario Lévesque
INTRODUCING MARIO: Mario Lévesque has been the head caretaker at the  EMSB Central Head Office on Fielding Avenue since July 2015 but he brings with him many years of experience since he first started his position with the Commission Scolaire Catholic de Montréal in 1980. Mario began his career in the army and was stationed in St. Jean where he trained as a mechanic for special vehicles. He went on to receive his driving training license at the largest training wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force in Borden, Ontario. He was later posted in the 5  Bataillion de Service in Valcartier as well as served as a mechanic in Mont Wright mines, which was then a major site for iron ore mining.

In 1998 Quebec's previously divided religious school boards were represented by linguistic ones. Mario served as an on call mechanic for school buses, catering to special needs children with physical disabilities for the EMSB. With his mechanical expertise he serviced over 100 schools including Marymount, Laurier MacDonald, and Royal Vale. As a caretaker at EMSB he takes pride in upkeeping the building. From maintaining the boiler, replacing a lightbulb, to clearing leaves from the steps of our building, we can count on his hard work to keep the staff comfortable and the building tip top. In his free time he enjoys cruising along the Gaspé region with his Honda VTX 1800cc motorbike and spending quality time with his five grandchildren.=

CHAIRMAN'S LUNCHEON:  A reminder that the annual Holiday Luncheon, hosted by the Chairman and the Council of Commissioners,  is on Tuesday, December 15 at 12:30 pm. Please note that is specifically for head office staff and anyone else invited by the Office of the Chairman. It is not an invitation for retired staff.

SUPPORTING FRANCE: Arnaud Lauzière, the nephew of EMSB Secretary General Nathalie  Lauzière, is a young hockey player on Montreal`s North Shore. After the tragic violence in France he decided to tape his hockey stick with the colours of France to show his support. Not only was his effort followed by other members of his team, but opposing clubs did the same thing. The cherry on the cake saw him score the winning goal for his team.
